Chwilczynski at the Famous BWA Katowice

At Katowice's BWA, as part of the Small Space series, a remarkable exhibition by Bartłomiej Chwilczynski, titled Pyramid of Needs, took place. This exhibition showcased the artist's original concept, where he explored various dimensions of human desires and emotions and transformed them into abstract, colorful forms.
Chwilczynski, known for his passion for experiments with various media, presented a series of collages that, at first glance, appeared to be "frozen" sculptures.
The works displayed during the exhibition evoked an undeniable sense of spatiality in the viewer. The colorful compositions, created on paper, radiated life, almost begging to be touched and experienced through senses beyond sight. It was the precision of execution, the meticulousness of the lines, the perfect blending of colors, and the subtlety of textures. That made Chwilczynski's collages seem not only like two-dimensional works but nearly full-fledged sculptural objects.
During the conversation with the audience, the artist revealed that his works were the result of a fascination with various techniques, which blended together into a harmonious whole. He drew inspiration to create cohesive unexpected works. The exhibition clearly demonstrated how different techniques-from painting to graphics to sculpture-intertwined to create a unique, multidimensional narrative. Pyramid of Needs was not just a visual feast; it was an exhibition that prompted viewers to reflect on the structure of their own emotions and desires. From the simplest to the most complex, which the artist translated into the language of art.
The exhibition at BWA Katowice provided an excellent opportunity to immerse oneself in Bartłomiej Chwilczynski's work, as each piece showcased the versatility and intrigue of his artistic world.
