Marianna Stuhr's Paintings Adorn the Walls of the Grand Hotel in Lodz

The refreshed interiors now feature Marianna Stuhr's abstract paintings

The Grand Hotel in Łódź, known for its elegance and historic charm, has gained a new radiance following a recent renovation. The interiors of this historic landmark-now refreshed and modernized-have been given an additional dimension through the abstract paintings of Marianna Stuhr. Her works, filled with vivid colors and intriguing forms, seamlessly integrate with the renewed space, blending contemporary art with the hotel's historical heritage.

Opened in 1888, the Grand Hotel has long been a symbol of elegance and luxury, hosting many distinguished figures from the worlds of culture, art, and politics. The recent extensive renovation, while respecting the past, introduced modern touches, harmoniously merging classical elegance with the minimalism of contemporary design.

Marianna Stuhr, known for her expressive and colorful works, visited the hotel multiple times during various stages of the renovation, drawing inspiration from its unique architecture, conservation efforts, and the investor's vision.

- My paintings were created in dialogue with the Grand Hotel's space, which combines history and modernity. It was important to me that my works not only adorn the interiors but also form a cohesive whole with them - says Marianna Stuhr.

Marianna Stuhr's works take on even deeper significance due to her family's connection with this place. Her father, the renowned actor and director Jerzy Stuhr, was a frequent guest at the Grand Hotel, where he had his own suite before the renovation, a place that became his second home over the years. Jerzy Stuhr's star adorns the Walk of Fame in front of the hotel on Piotrkowska Street, and now his daughter leaves her own artistic mark on this iconic location.
